It is known in the area for the great stories of mythical creatures and people that live on Casper Mountain. The celebration is attended by many people from the community and from around the country.
A large bonfire is held and all are invited to throw a handful of red dirt into the fire, hoping you get your wish granted.
The story of Crimson Dawn began in the early 1930's when founder Elizabeth "Neal" Forsling, a native Missourian with a knack for storytelling and a keen imagination, hosted a Midsummer's Eve party for her friends and their children. Soon the Crimson Dawn area became a haven for area artists and a place where folks could visit and be whisked 1000 miles away from everyday travails.
Kids of all ages love visiting Crimson Dawn Park and Museum and hearing the curator's tales about the mythical creatures that have long romped among the trees - witches, elves and other forest spirits.
This is a great place to picnic in the summer time.
Summer hours to visit the Crimson Dawn Museum are Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
