Cancellation Policy Update for Camping Reservations System

Summer is just around the corner and some of us are already dipping toes into camping, even if the waters are still too cold!

Online camping reservations are a new norm nowadays and majority of National, State, County and even private parks and campgrounds either require or at least offer reservations. One of the most frequent complaints about reservations we hear from our citizens is “reserved” spaces that stay empty for days because people did not show up and did not care to cancel, therefore taking away an opportunity from another camper to use the site. It’s understandable that people may not care to cancel if it’s difficult, requires calling during office hours, comes with fees and has to be done in advance, so we are going to make it easy!

Natrona County Parks will no longer require seven (7) days advance cancellation in order to receive user credit on our reservation system.* You will now be able to cancel all the way up to one (1) day before your stay. Online. No questions asked. No fees. And your user credit never expires.

Please also consider, in case of a confirmed “No-show” – a camper that did not arrive to their reserved site by 11 am the next day – the entire reservation may be canceled at our discretion and no user credit will be given.

We all understand life happens and plans change. But when they do, please cancel or reschedule your reservation! You will get an opportunity to camp at a different time using your credit and not having to pay again and your thoughtfulness will allow another family to enjoy a site, which would otherwise sit empty!

*Shelter reservations will still have to be canceled seven (7) days in advance in order to receive a credit.
