UW Extension of Natrona County will be hosting four speakers for this year’s Central Wyoming Tree Care Workshop. Speakers include Dr. Daniel Burcham, the new Professor of Arboriculture, at Colorado State University, Bill Scott, Jr., local Master Arborist, Mike Tilford and Jim Tough both of SavATree based in Fort Collins, CO. Bill Scott, Jr. will be up first and talk about the right tree, may not be the right tree if the space is wrong for it. Dr. Burcham will share his research background on wind effects on trees in his program on Pruning trees to enhance their resilience in high wind conditions. Lunch by HQ Bar BQ will be served at 11:45. Our afternoon will start with program on the safety issues that are faced by our Arboriculturists as they work in the tree canopy to improve the health of local trees. The final presentation, by Jim tough, will be focused on the basics of pruning, we all need reminders of the basics and we can all learn something new by hearing some of the same things again. We are working on getting approval for ISA Certified Arborists 5.5 CEU credits.
