Notice of Intent to Adopt Building Code

Pursuant to the Wyoming Administrative Procedures Act, W.S.16-3-103 et seq., W.S. 18-3-504, and W.S. 18-5-201 through W.S. 18-5-314, the Board of County Commissioners of Natrona County (BOCC) will hold a public hearing on the 19th day of March, 2024 to consider resolutions repealing resolutions 36-18, 37-18, 38-18; 39-18; 40-18; 41-18; 57-18; 44-20; 46-20; 84-03 and any other resolutions or portions of resolutions in conflict with updated codes. The BOCC will also consider resolutions adopting the 2021 editions of the International Building, Residential, Fire, Existing Building, Plumbing, Fuel Gas, and Mechanical Codes, as modified; the 2023 editions of the National Electric and National Electrical Safety Codes, as modified; and a resolution for the Establishment of and Rules of Practice for the Natrona County Development Board of Appeals.  

Prior to the public hearing, any interested party may submit his/her written views on the proposed rules to Patrick Virrill or :

The mission of the Building Department is to ensure compliance with the minimum adopted building code requirements to provide a reasonable level of safety, public health, and general welfare through structural strength, means of egress facilities, stability, sanitation, adequate light and ventilation, energy conservation, and safety to life and property from fire, explosion and other hazards, and to provide a reasonable level of safety to fire fighters and emergency responders during emergency operations.

Cooperative Agencies

The Natrona County Building Department works in conjunction with Natrona County Planning Department, Natrona County Code Enforcement, Natrona County Road & Bridge, Casper-Natrona County Health Department, and the Natrona County Fire Protection District. These and other federal, state, and local partner agencies serve to provide a safe community for the citizens of Natrona County and it's visitors.
