Voter Qualifications


In order to register to vote, you must meet the following qualifications:
  • Be a citizen of the United States;
  • Resident of the State of Wyoming and the precinct in which you register;
  • Be 18 years of age on election day;
  • Withdraw voter registration from any other jurisdiction, if applicable; 
  • Present a valid Wyoming driver's license (If you do not have your current valid driver's license with you, you must provide the number along with additional acceptable identification as determined by the Wyoming Secretary of State;
    • If you have not been issued a Wyoming driver's license or yours is expired, you must provide:
      • A statement to that effect;
      • The last four digits of your social security number; and
      • Additional acceptable identification as defined in rules.
  • If you have neither a valid Wyoming driver's license nor a social security number, please indicate this by checking the appropriate box on the Voter Registration Application and contact your County Clerk.
  • Not been convicted of a felony or if convicted, has had civil or voting rights restored; 
  • Nor adjudicated mentally incompetent

Necessary Information


To complete the Voter Registration Application (PDF), voters will need to adhere to the following instructions:
  • Applicants must have a valid picture ID (any state's issued driver's license, passport, military ID card, school ID card, etc.)
    • If applicants are using identification other than the Wyoming driver's license, applicants must also include the last four digits of their Social Security number
    • If mailing the application to the County Clerk's Office, please include a photocopy of your driver’s license and have the application notarized
  • Applicants may complete sections 1 - 5 of the application, but section 6 must be completed in front of a notary or be notarized at the County Clerk's Office or your polling location on election day

To keep your voter registration current, you must vote in the General Election every 2 years.
